Hi, I’m Stefany Ortega, founder of House by Ortega, mama, and design consultant with a deep belief that home should feel like a reflection of who you are, not just what’s trending.
My journey into design started in the most personal way: with our own kitchen. It was small, closed off, and made everyday life harder than it needed to be. We spent a long time living in that space before we finally saw what was possible and when we opened it up, everything shifted. The light changed, the energy changed, and suddenly, home felt like it was working with us instead of against us.
That experience sparked something in me. I realized how many families live in homes that don’t quite work, whether it’s a tricky layout, a lack of storage, or just not feeling seen by traditional design studios. That’s where House by Ortega began: with the mission to help people make confident, grounded design decisions that support real life.
Now, I specialize in thoughtful remodel and design consulting with a focus on small spaces, layout challenges, and what I like to call quiet design: spaces that don’t shout, but feel calm, intentional, and full of meaning.
If you’ve ever felt like design wasn’t made for homes like yours, you’re my people. I’m so glad you’re here.
Why This Service Is Different
When you work with House by Ortega, you're not just hiring a design consultant, you're getting partners who treats your home like their own. We bring not only an eye for thoughtful design, but also a reputation for being organized, detail-oriented, and most importantly reliable. What sets this service apart is the added layer of technical know-how: my partner (and husband ), a structural engineer by training, supports select projects behind the scenes, helping ensure that layout ideas align with real-world possibilities. Together, we approach each kitchen as both a creative challenge and a technical one so you can feel confident that your design isn’t just beautiful, it’s buildable.
